Greene’s hobbies included reading, traveling to visit with friends and neighbors, listening to the radio, and going to listen in court. He wrote of many encounters with locals Mrs. Rachel Wilson Eller, and Reverend J.C. Camps, a former student, and pastor of Boone Baptist Church, to name a few. He also included weather reports and predictions along with information about the Appalachian State Teachers College and local churches such as Willowdale and Cove Creek Church.
