Go Ask Poppa
Her face so fair,
Her form divine,
He whispered low,
Sweetheart, be mine.
Go ask Poppa,
The maiden said.
He knew quite well
Poppa was dead,
He knew the life
Poppa had led,
So he took his hat and fled
When the maiden said:
Go Ask Poppa.
